“Lavender Haze” is the third music video to be released from her 2022 album “Midnights,” following the release of the videos for “Anti-Hero” and “Bejeweled.”
“Anti-Hero,” a deeply personal hit, became the singer’s longest-running single to hold the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, spending eight weeks at No. 1, surpassing the seven weeks that “Blank Space” held in 2014.
Previously, Swift shared on Instagram that “Lavender Haze” was written about her boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, and that throughout their six-year relationship, they’ve had to navigate through some “weird” tabloid rumors. She added that the song is about ignoring those rumors to protect their real relationship, noting that the term “lavender haze” is used to describe being in love.
